Co-Writing

Co-writing is one of my favorite things to do and with me on your team, the journey will be a deeply hands-on and personal experience. Our process together will take 3-12 months depending on the length and content of your project. It will consist of interviews and outline sessions where I take time to get to know you, your voice, and your objective for your project. That said, every process, just like every book, will be different. Depending on your schedule, availability, workflow, and deadline, we’ll work together to come up with a foolproof plan that we both feel excited about. After we outline the project, I’ll go off, write, and hand you pages on a schedule we both agree on. When we’re done, you’ll walk away with a written work that sounds like you and encapsulates your voice and energy on the page. With co-writing, I am here to shape, not invent the story.

Manuscript Editing

When I was a kid, I used to redline every book I read, offering editorial feedback to the authors — my imaginary clients; Tinkering with the words to make the sentences flow better in my head.

Today, I put that childhood passion to use by working with talented writers who need editorial feedback to take their writing to the next level. Sometimes, you need an extra eye or hand to guide you forward, and that’s what I’m here for!

I work with writers to provide in-depth feedback on manuscripts to make them submission-ready. My feedback will be kind, but honest. It will ask questions - big and small about plot, structure, characters, pacing, dialogue, pacing, and more. It will also provide prescriptive feedback to usher you and your writing forward.

In the second round of edits, I will drill down into a sentence-by-sentence read, adding line edits and comments, including questions about clarity, continuity, and more.

By round three, I will just be cleaning things up with you. Expect a lot of compliments in this round and a comprehensive letter detailing our journey — from where we started to where we ended, and any (tiny!) last editorial comments and reminders that might be needed.
